PREVENTATIVE DENTISTRY
Check – up or limited consultation- your first appointment with us is always a friendly chat with our staff and dentist.
You will be asked to fill out a medical history form, so we are aware of any medications you take and any allergies.
At this appointment, you will have the opportunity to discuss any concerns you have about your teeth.

X-rays may be taken to check decay, tooth abscesses, roots of teeth or any gum disease.

CROWNS AND BRIDGES

Crowns
A crown or a cap is fabricated in the dental laboratory with a mould made of the tooth. This covers and protects the remaining tooth structure from fracture by normal chewing forces, especially after root canal treatment. It can also be used to improve the colour and shape of teeth. It can be made up of porcelain, gold, zirconia or composite.

Bridges
Bridges replace one or more missing natural tooth. It is a permanent replacement fabricated in the dental laboratory and is anchored to the adjacent natural teeth to bridge the gap. It helps prevent the natural teeth from drifting and causing discrepancy in the bite. Another alternative for a bridge is an implant, whereby the lost or missing tooth is replaced by an implant.

CHILDREN DENTISTRY

For toddlers an young children, teeth cleaning should start as soon as teeth are present in the mouth. By 2 ½ years, most of the baby teeth have come into the mouth. Hence the emphasis for children as young as 2 years to start visiting the dentist, it also builds up repprt and familiarity preventing anxious parents with anxious kids.
CDBS
Medicare provides financial support for basic dental service aged 2-17 years. Eligible children receive a capped $1000 each over a 2 year calendar period. No out of pocket expenses at Mentone Dental. Simply provide your Medicare card and get bulk billed.
